Healing Gardens
at Hospice Houses

Sponsoring agency/location: Multiple

Healing gardens on the grounds of Hospice Houses offer a setting for reflection and reminiscing, secluded spots for quiet conversations, and easy access to nature, with views from the patient's bed and opportunities to bring natural light, fresh air and flowers into the patient's room. Many residents of Hospice Houses have medical conditions that are too far advanced for any activities in these gardens beyond sitting and enjoying the sights. But family members and staff of the hospice facility can also use them to stop and smell the roses.
